Vintage clothes fashion donations to remember Jon Gordon

The life of Sarina Russo Job Access client Jon Gordon was celebrated as the local community supported a fashion parade to raise money for Medway Age Concern.

Last month, Jon passed away from natural causes on his way to his first day at work with Medway Age Concern.

Jon's mum Jackie Ellis attended the event and said Jon had everything to live for as he'd just found his dream job after many years of unemployment.

The Mayor Medway, Cllr. David Brake, and the Lady Mayoress enjoyed the recycled fashion show styled by local charity shops and modelled by professional model Eve Marchant, of Vogue fame.

Other customers also joined in the modelling and the outfits were later "sold" by way of donations.

The morning started with a bake sale, coffee and drinks and the Sarina Russo Job Access training room was transformed into a mini pampering spa with hand massages and nail-polish refreshes for donations.

Many thanks to representatives of Oxfam, Shelter, Scope, Salvation Army, Redcross, Caring Hands, Cancer Research, Sue Ryder and Hospice of Hope, Strood Community Centre, The Greyhound Trust, local businesses and Chatham Job Centre Plus who supported the event.
