Broadcasting Opportunity for Jobseekers

The Voice of Africa Radio and Sarina Russo Job Access have teamed up to help change the lives of young people.

Becky Edwards, Project and Marketing Coordinator, said the Voice of Africa Radio has a very cosmopolitan audience and were delighted to welcome Shantelle and Abdi as trainees.

"First and foremost they learnt about pan-Africanism, radio production and broadcasting as well as how to deal with potential clients and customer service.

"Radio is an integral part of human social life. We set the agenda and people join the talk," Becky said.

Shantelle said working at Voice of Africa Radio has given her administration, customer service and studio work skills. "My volunteer work has exposed me to event management which is a career option I want to pursue".

Abdisaid he'd never worked in a radio station set-up before and didn't have any experience of working in an office environment.

"I've gained so much working at Voice of Africa Radio which will help boost my CV. I used my creativity to come up with ideas when it comes to writing scripts and using my Microsoft Office skills."
